“Whoever seeks something and strives for it will find it.”

A classical Arabic maxim built on a pun that does not survive translation: man jadda wajad — “whoever is earnest, finds.” It is one of the first sayings taught in Arabic primers, and it is deliberately unromantic: it promises the finding to the striving, and says nothing about how long.
