Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him.
“Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him.”
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that Allah Almighty does not show him who does not show mercy to people mercy. Indeed, showing compassion to people is one of the greatest means of receiving Allah's mercy.
The plain meaning, from HadeethEnc
Jarīr ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah Almighty does not show mercy to him."
What does Sahih Muslim 2319 mean?
Narrated by Jarir ibn ‘Abdullah and agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. The word used is “people”, not “believers” — the commentators note that the mercy required is not sorted by who deserves it. The logic is the one the hadith states plainly: showing mercy to creation is among the surest ways of being shown it.
