“The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on.”

A proverb in wide use in Arabic, though its origin is contested and versions of it are current in Turkish and Persian too. It is quoted to someone being criticised for doing something worth doing, and its logic is the caravan’s: the barking is real, it is simply not an instruction.
