What does Quran 26:62 mean?

The sea is in front of them and Pharaoh’s army is behind them, and the companions of Musa (peace be upon him) have just said the obvious: we are going to be caught. This is his answer, and it contains no plan. The next verse is the instruction to strike the sea — which comes after the statement of trust, not before it.
