Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.
Quran 76:3
Quran 76:3

“Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.”

I showed him, through the tongues of My messengers, the path of guidance and by that the path of misguidance became clear to him. Thereafter he is either guided to the straight path and becomes a believing servant that is thankful to Allah, or he is misled from it and becomes a disbelieving servant who rejects Allah’s signs.

The explanation

What does Quran 76:3 mean?

Surah al-Insan opens by asking whether there was not a time when man was not a thing worth mentioning, then describes his being made from a drop and given hearing and sight. This verse is the turn: the way has been shown. The commentators read “guided him to the way” as the sending of messengers, which makes both roads visible — and then leaves the choosing where it was always going to be.
