Indeed, those who say, “Our Lord is Allah;
The plain meaning, from Al-Mukhtasar fi at-Tafsir
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَبْشِرُوا۟ بِٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, saying, "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
What does Quran 41:30 mean?
These are not words spoken in the middle of life but at the end of it. The verse describes angels descending on those who said “Our Lord is Allah” and then stood firm, as death approaches. The two things they are told to drop are exactly the two a dying person carries — fear of what is coming and grief over what is being left behind. And the condition attached is not perfection; it is having stayed the course.
