And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him.
“And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him.”
And He will provide for him in ways he did not even imagine, nor had ever thought of. Whoever relies on Allah in his matters, He will be sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will make His decision come to pass; nothing makes him incapable nor does He miss anything.
The plain meaning, from Al-Mukhtasar fi at-Tafsir
وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَٰلِغُ أَمْرِهِۦ ۚ قَدْ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدْرًا
And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a decreed extent.
What does Quran 65:3 mean?
One of the most quoted lines about reliance, and it is worth knowing where it sits: in the middle of the law of divorce. Surah at-Talaq legislates the waiting period, the witnesses, the parting done decently — and there, at the point where a life is coming apart, comes the promise of provision from where he did not expect and a Lord who is enough for him. The passage closes by fixing a term for everything, so that neither the hardship nor the ease is permanent.
