“And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will be mindful?”

And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?

This line is a refrain in Surah al-Qamar: it returns four times, and each time it follows the account of a nation that was destroyed — the people of Nuh, then ‘Ad, then Thamud, then the people of Lut. The repetition is the argument. After every warning the same offer is made again: the Book has been made easy to take in, and the only question left open is whether anyone will take it.
