Allah will replace their evil deeds with good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
“Allah will replace their evil deeds with good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”
But those who repent to Allah and do good deeds that indicate the sincerity of their repentance, then Allah will change the evil deeds of such people into good ones. Allah is Forgiving of the sins of those of His servants who repent and He is Merciful towards them.
The plain meaning, from Al-Mukhtasar fi at-Tafsir
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
What does Quran 25:70 mean?
The exception is the striking part. The verses before this list the gravest sins — associating others with Allah, killing, unlawful intercourse — and describe punishment doubled. Then: except the one who repents, believes and does righteous work. What is promised is not erasure but exchange, and the commentators tie it to deeds that show the repentance was real.
