Whoever seeks the heights must forgo sleep.
Arabic proverb
“Whoever seeks the heights must forgo sleep.”
What does Arabic proverb mean?
Half of a famous Arabic couplet: “in proportion to the effort the heights are gained, and whoever seeks the heights stays up through the nights.” The second half is the one that survives as a proverb. It is the standard line quoted to students of knowledge, and it names a cost rather than a technique.
