Three things — whoever brings them together has brought faith together: being fair even against yourself, offering the greeting of peace to everyone, and spending even when you have little.

“Three things — whoever brings them together has brought faith together: being fair even against yourself, offering the greeting of peace to everyone, and spending even when you have little.”

The explanation

What does Ammar ibn Yasir mean?

‘Ammar ibn Yasir (d. 37 AH / 657 CE) was among the earliest Muslims in Makkah, and his parents were among its first martyrs. Al-Bukhari quotes these words of his at the head of a chapter in the Book of Faith titled “spreading the greeting of peace is part of Islam.” They are ‘Ammar’s own words, cited without their chain, not a hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
