عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «أَكْمَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِيمَانًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا، وَخَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لِنِسَائِهِمْ».
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most perfect believer in terms of his faith is the one who has the most excellent manners, and the best of you are those who are best to their womenfolk."
What does Sunan al-Tirmidhi 1162 mean?
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, recorded by Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad, and graded hasan. The hadith does not stop where the quotation does; it goes straight on to “and the best of you are those who are best to their womenfolk.” Placing the two clauses together is the definition being offered: character is the measure of faith, and the household is the measure of character.
