Let the days do what they will, and be content when fate has decreed.
Imam al-Shafii (Diwan)
“Let the days do what they will, and be content when fate has decreed.”
What does Imam al-Shafii (Diwan) mean?
A line from the Diwan of poetry attributed to al-Shafi‘i (150–204 AH). The poem it opens goes on to say that a person should not be shaken by what happens at night, since nothing in this world lasts — and that the one who keeps to good character is remembered for it after he is gone.
