“In deliberation there is safety, and in haste there is regret.”

A rhyming Arabic proverb — as-salamah against an-nadamah — in everyday use, which we did not find in the classical proverb collections. The Sunnah says something close to it: “deliberateness is from Allah, and haste is from Satan,” a hadith al-Tirmidhi records while calling it unusual and noting that one of its narrators was weak in memory.
