These are among the first words of ‘Isa (peace be upon him), spoken from the cradle when Maryam was accused and pointed to her infant instead of answering. What he says about himself is worth noting for its plainness — a servant, given the Book, made a prophet, made blessed wherever he is — and then this: prayer and zakah for as long as I live.
