Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every act of goodness is charity."
What does Sahih al-Bukhari 6021 mean?
Narrated by Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah in al-Bukhari, and by Hudhayfah in Muslim. It is four words in Arabic and the commentators leave it as broad as it sounds: any good done to anyone, in word or in act, is written as charity. The category is not defined by cost, which is what makes it usable by someone who has nothing to give.
