“Contentment is a treasure that never runs out.”

A saying long current in Arabic — al-qana‘ah kanz la yafna — and one that is sometimes passed around as a hadith, which it is not. Its meaning is firmly established in the Sunnah all the same: true richness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, is not an abundance of possessions but the richness of the soul.
