Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
“Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.”
Then I said to them, “O my people! Seek the forgiveness of your Lord by turning to Him. Indeed, He, may He be glorified, is the oft-Forgiving of the sins of whichever of His servants repents to Him.”
The plain meaning, from Al-Mukhtasar fi at-Tafsir
فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
What does Quran 71:10 mean?
Nuh (peace be upon him) reports what he told his people after calling them night and day for a very long time — a people who, he says, put their fingers in their ears and pulled their garments over themselves rather than listen. What he offered them, after all that, was still forgiveness. The verses that follow list what he told them would come with it: rain, wealth, children, gardens and rivers.
